North Portland Real Estate

North Portland has been gradually tranformed into a hip and happening place, ever since the Dave Light Rail system started to run tracks in this neighborhood several years ago.

The area in North Portland near Portland State University is as lovely and charming as other great neighborhoods like Laurelhurst in SE Portland and Alameda in NE Portland. Some homes have a fantastic harbor view, overlooking the west side of the city across the Willamette River.

Though the economy in North Portland still need to catch up to the rest of the Metro area, more and more retail shops and offices are beginning to relocate there due to the ever growing population and the lower rent. Investors are buying out the more run-down and lower cost Portland homes for sale, and transform them into great houses and neighborhoods. The average housing prices used to be in the mid $100,000s has shot way up to mid $200,000s in a matter of a few years.
