The beautiful city of Lake Oswego is just 8 miles south of downtown Portland . The commuting time from Lake Oswego to Portland is normally less than 15 to 20 minutes.

Lake Oswego is primarily an upscale residential community with a population of just less than 40,000. However, some commercial development has started in the downtown Lake Oswego area including a newly developed shopping area and restaurants.

Within Lake Oswego, there are a number of neighborhoods; each with its own unique characteristics and school results. The major residential neighborhoods are named: West Lake, First Addition (downtown), Lake Grove, Mountain Park, South Shore, Westridge, and Waluga.

Each of these Lake Oswego neighborhoods has its own unique qualities, real estate prices, and terrain. Lake Oswego luxury homes start from as low as $500,000 to multi-million dollar homes at the lake front.

Similar to condos and lofts in Portland, there're a number of luxury lofts and condos available in the First Addition of Lake Oswego that start from the high $200,000s.

One thing you'll need to be very careful with when buying a home in Lake Oswego. Make sure that you
find out whether the Lake Oswego home is located in Clackamas or Multnomah county. The two counties offer very different school services, property resale value, and property taxes. Talk to us before you buy.
