When visiting this neighborhood you’ll find Piedmont real estate is made up of homes centered around 1920’s construction and of traditional single or 2 story design. Architecture is reminiscent of other Portland neighborhoods of this vintage, nice blend of craftsman-like detail but not overly exorbitant. Bungalow, old Portland, Cape Cod, and Tudors are labels used to define Piedmont homes. Very few single level layouts or ones with master bedroom on the main floor. Usable basements are available but not guaranteed as some ceiling heights are marginal… still usable for laundry or storage. Bedrooms upstairs with a potential bonus room in larger designs. Sizes average near 2000’ for but can push 3000’ on the upper end. This neighborhood provides benefit if you’re a more budget conscious buyer who is targeting an easy downtown commute and close-in urban residential setting.
