Boise Neighborhood, N Portland
Feel , Known For –
Portland’s Boise neighborhood is sometimes referred to as “Boise-Elliot” and a perfect example of gentrification. Popularity now is a far cry from where it was 10 years ago. A unique brew of businesses and residents promoting free-spirit thinking, starving and non-starving artists alike. Local shops, coffee houses, brew pubs attract 20 and 30 somethings to this affordable neighborhood. Popularity has soared over recent years along with real estate values but taxes remain low. Close-in location appeals to commuters, plus it’s got a decent Walkscore. More on Portland real estate and Portland neighborhoods…

Boise Home Styles –
Single family home styles are from the early 1900’s. Some have been significantly updated but others are quite original. Finding fixers in the Boise neighborhood is not a tough project. Having recently undergone a large popularity swing makes them good candidates for upgrade and recapture of money spent. Original style remains popular. Bungalows with ornate eaves and millwork really break up home fronts. Curb appeal and character is the name of the game on traditional, craftsman and Victorian architecture.
